From the very outset the Emperor was secretively aware that the claimed psycho-optical properties of the fabric being proposed for his new attire, was an utter farce. Even though it posed the possibility for an embarrassment - that he might eventually come to be regarded as foolish for having given in to the farce, this was nevertheless for him a once in a lifetime opportunity – nothing less than a divine boon. God had finally answered his prayer, to go forth and take command over his long cherished secret desire: to flaunt his Majesty’s modesty to his beloved people.
